Who is Donald Trump?
Donald Trump was the 45th president of the United States. His full name is Donald John Trump. He was the oldest and first billionaire American president with a net worth of $3.1 billion (estimated by Forbes in March 2019). On his journey to the white house, he defeated the Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election. During the election campaign, Trump made many controversial statements which caused numerous protests. Despite losing the popular vote, nothing could stop him being the president of the most powerful country in the world.
He was born on June 14, 1946, at Queens, New York City. His father, Frederick Christ Trump was a real estate developer, and his mother’s name is Mary Anne MacLeod, born in Scotland and immigrated to the USA at the age of 18. His parents got married in 1936 and started living in New York. Trump is the third child and has four siblings: Maryanne, Fred Jr., Elizabeth, and Robert.
Trump did his schooling from Kew-Forest School and got admitted to a private boarding school named New York Military Academy at the age of thirteen. After getting a BS degree in economics from Wharton School, Trump started his career in 1968 by joining his father’s real estate development company named E. Trump and Son. In 1971, Trump became the president of the company and renamed it The Trump Organization. He managed the company until 2017 and expanded it into Manhattan.
Trump married three times till now and has five children and nine grandchildren. Czech model Ivana Zelníčková was his first wife. They got married in 1977 and got divorced in 1992. In their 15 years of married life, they had three children: Donald Jr., Ivanka, and Eric. In 1993, Trump married actress Marla Maples and got divorced in 1999. They had a daughter named Tiffany. Trump married Slovenian model Melania Knauss in 2005, and she got US citizenship the following year. They had a son named Barron. In 2017, Melania Knauss became First Lady, and his daughter Ivanka became his assistant. His sons, Eric and Don Jr. now manages the Trump Organization.
