What is Starbucks?
Starbucks Corporation is the biggest coffeehouse chains in the world. They currently have more than 30000 retail locations worldwide. They serve coffee, tea, juices, chips and crackers, sandwiches.
Starbucks was founded 48 years ago in 1971 by three partners, namely Jerry Baldwin, Zev Siegl, and Gordon Bowker. All of the co-founders attended the University of San Francisco. They opened their first store in Seattle, Washington, on March 31, 1971. They sold Starbucks to Howard Schultz in 1987, who was a former manager of the organization. By 1989, he expanded Starbucks in 46 stores. The company goes for an initial public offering in 1992. The current stock price is approximately 88 USD.
Starbucks initially focused on the domestic market only. It took them 25 years to focus on the international market. They started their first store outside America in Japan in 1996. As of early 2020, more than 350,000 employees work in Starbucks.
